Selecting a hard drive for upgrading your TiVo DVR is not as difficult as it may seem. Yes, there are many brands and sizes to consider, and a plethora of specifications which can be overwhelming to consider. The reality is that most of the specifications are irrelevant because the hard drives available in the market today all exceed the requirements for good performance in a DVR. Want some specifics? Two of the most commonly asked about specifications; cache size and rotational speed really don't matter a bit; all drives manufactured for most any computer more than exceed what is required for that of a DVR.
