DVRupgrade LBA48 CD with MFStools and Enhancements

Use of this CD is predicated on the theory that you are either familiar enough with MFStools and its best uses, or that you are using a popular upgrade guide, such as Hinsdale, or Weaknees. It should be noted that we are not responsible for the content provided in these guides, nor are we necessarily in agreement with the methods they use, or components they recommend. In actuality, DVRupgrade has been providing upgrade kits and services longer than these guides have existed, and our practices, although essentially private, are most certainly more mature. With that said, the fundamentals for creating simple capacity upgrade kits can be found at the aforementioned sites, and the CD we provide should serve you well as a DIY tool.
For those who are not interested in using an upgrade guide, or purchasing one of our easy-to-install upgrade kits, we recommend our DIY software utilities such as InstantCake and PTVnet.
This boot disk provides several key capabilities: It is built with a newer Linux kernel that allows your PC to fully access the capacity of large drives when working with MFStools. It also contains rebuilt and modified kernels for the Series1 TiVo. These updated kernels, when properly installed on your TiVo hard drive will allow your TiVo to access the full capacity of practically any large hard drive. Additionally, the CD will allow you to copy the updated kernels to your TiVo hard drive and will also create a larger swap partition for you at the same time. In summary, this CD will enable you to use MFStools to create very large replacement drives for any TiVo system. Most of the information, updated kernels and utilities can be found here. Many thanks to Todd Miller on the AVSforum for his work which is primarily discussed here.
