The Series2 standalone unit is the most popular of TiVo units in the market today. These units are intended to be used with CATV systems, but can also accommodate the use of external satellite receivers, and digital cable boxes (using their analog outputs). These units cannot display HDTV because they only contain analog tuners and analog inputs, but they can be connected to a home network using a USB Ethernet adapter and they do support all of the latest features available from TiVo.
