Shipping Information

DVRupgrade Shipping Policy

We offer free shipping of many upgrade kits, upgraded units, and many other products we offer. Free shipping methods we use may vary and are only applicable to customers within the 48 contiguous states, plus the District of Columbia. For shipments from Chicago, we typically use UPS Ground Service. Ground service is typically 5 business days or less. From Chicago to the Eastern seaboard is typically 2-3 days. From Chicago to the West coast is typically 3-4 days. In some cases, products will be shipped directly from a fulfillment center and the choice of ground service may vary. Upon checkout, you can select a variety of premium shipping options and quotes associated with shipping charges. We offer 3-day, 2nd-day and Next-Day services. If you are interested in Saturday Delivery, please contact us with your order information and we will modify your order. UPS does charge an additional fee for Saturday delivery of no more than $15; we will pass the actual amount on to you, with your approval. Accessories, software, and other small components may be shipped via USPS, at our discretion when 'free shipping' is selected. When a premium shipment method is selected, we will ensure the package is shipped to arrive within the shipping time specified.

Canada, Hawaii, and Alaska shipments are not eligible for free shipping; if you do not select a premium shipping method, we will select a method and keep the costs as low as possible. Most likely we will use UPS unless explicit shipping arrangements are made upon order receipt. In either case, shipping charges for these shipments do apply and will be calculated and charged to same credit card used for the order placed. Canadian customers are responsible for all duties upon the arrival of your package. If PayPal us used as your method of payment, we will issue a money-request prior to shipping your order.

In most cases, all kit orders placed prior to 3pm (central time) will ship the same business day it is ordered. We prioritize shipments based upon the type of product and the service selected; if you order a 2nd-day air package it will be given a higher priority than a UPS ground package, so if you are ordering close to the cut-off time and you want to ensure it ships out the same day, please choose the appropriate shipping method. Please understand that professional installations and kit orders will always assume a higher priority than accessories and software orders, which may take longer to process.

Our UPS driver typically arrives between 3:30pm and 4:00pm; in special circumstances, we can ship things out as late as 6:00pm, however you MUST contact us to confirm this! In short, we recommend you act conservatively when ordering, but we do know you want it fast, and we will always strive to exceed your expectations.

Packaging

All of our products ship in custom packaging bearing our logo. Each disk drive is shipped in its own box with protective foam meeting the manufacturers' shipping specifications. In the case of dual-drive kits, the individual boxes shipped inside a larger box, also custom designed, to keep the items secure and protected while in transit. When shipping your TiVo unit to us, we request you use the manufacturer's original packaging, however we recognize that many people do not keep their original boxes. We do offer a custom-shipper which consists of a box, custom foam 'end-caps', a protective plastic bag for your unit and a return-label. If you are unable to locate secure packaging to send us your unit, please order a custom-shipper and we'll take care of the rest.

Insurance

All products shipped are insured at their replacement value. If your product is damaged during shipment to you, we will work with the shipper to resolve the situation and replace your product as quickly as possible. If it is damaged in shipment to us, shippers typically require the sender of the package to file an insurance claim. If a problem like this arises, we will work with you and the shipper to resolve the situation; we have yet to have any problems, however we do recommend you fully insure any shipments bound for DVRupgrade.
