About a year ago the drive went bad on our 40 hour TiVo. TiVo customer service said there was nothing I could do except buy another TiVo. I'm a computer guy and didn't care for that answer. I had an extra (bigger) hardrive and bought the InstantCake software. The price was right. I followed the directions and installed the drive in the TiVo. I now have a 140 hour TiVo which runs great today. If it goes again I wouldn't hesitate to buy it again. -- Thanks, --JimD

We upgraded a failing hard drive in our Series 2 TiVo unit. The entire process from loading the software to swapping the hard drive and running Guided Setup went smoothly and painlessly. We were able to preserve our lifetime subscription. Both the products and service were excellent and we would recommend DVRupgrade to anyone.

I was very impressed by DVRupgrade! I purchased the HDHomeRun, and not only was the price excellent, but the delivery time was wonderful, and they threw in a free coaxial splitter! Plus, they were there every step of the way making sure via email that everything was as I wanted it. It's hard to find service like that nowadays.

Satisfied customer? You bet!!! Early this year our out of warranty Series 2 TiVo (with Lifetime Service Plan) began freezing up in playback mode to the point it was unusable. After emailing some questions to DVRupgrade I ordered a 160 GB hard drive replacement from them. I received it in a couple of days (no shipping charge) and installed it in less than 10 minutes (and I'm no expert at these things!). Our TiVo was back in business and now we have several times the original recording capacity.

A couple of months ago, I purchased a 160 GB hard drive kit from DVRupgrade for my DirecTivo, as the old one was failing. While the website had helpful information, I had some additional questions which the staff answered quickly. I installed it myself and the old problems I was having have disappeared. The extra room for recording is a bonus. Hopefully, the unit will now last until DirecTV comes out with an HD Tivo model. I would definitely recommend DVRupgrade to anyone who is thinking of upgrading their unit.

I have one of the first TiVo DVR boxes to come out however I bought the lifetime service and no monthly charge so when my unit went down after many years of good service, I just bought a DVRupgrade kit. It's like a new unit many more free years of service, easy to hook up; four small screws new unit and I ain't very electronic HA!Ha !

I ordered a replacement hard drive for my DirecTV TiVo from DVRupgrade in order to increase my recording capacity. Install couldn't have been easier, and I was up and running in no time flat. I was shocked at how easy it was and I'm glad I didn't try to setup a new blank hard drive on my own. This was definitely the way to go.

The install was a snap. My out of commission TiVo was up and running in no more than 10 minutes and I got to keep my lifetime subscription too! The hardest part was waiting while the TiVo setup ran. The extra hard drive space is a big plus as well. We now have more space than we need and don't need to worry about losing any shows.

I had received no help from Tivo when my DVR crashed, but DVRupgrade had the parts and the ease of repair instructions to get my TiVo back up and running without the grief. Next time I have machine problems I'll go here, first... Thanks!

TiVo was dead in the water. Ordered the upgrade for my unit and installed. Followed the directions and *voila* the Tivo is back in business, preserving our "lifetime" subscription with TiVo. We now have much more space for recordings than the old unit.

The replacement drive I got for my Series 2 unit allowed me to keep my lifetime service and install was a breeze. It took all of 5 minutes to remove the lid pop in the new drive and start guided setup.

Had a drive failure on my Teries 3 HD after about 18 months of operation. Replaced with 750G from DVRupgrade. Perfectly easy to do the swap. TiVo upgraded to most recent version of code in about 24 hours. The way the TiVo and the kit are designed I made the swap in about 15 minutes including re-cabling. Smooth sailing ever since. So much recording time its is a bit of a problem to keep up. What a happy problem! Don't notice any real difference in the noise level.

When my TiVo died, I was so upset because it has a lifetime subscription. No help was to be found on the TiVo website, but then I found DVRupgrade, ordered the replacement hard drive, and received the package so quickly that I couldn't believe it. It was so easy to install and start up and has worked perfectly since day one. And, that was over 4 months ago. I couldn't be happier!
