Let us Repair your TiVo, Extend Its Life and Preserve Its Lifetime Service
In most cases, a defective TiVo can be repaired by replacing the existing hard drive with one of our kits. However, if you are not certain of the problem, or think the issue could be something else, like a bad power supply, bad tuner, defective motherboard or some other problem, we recommend you send us your unit so we can repair it for you.
Here's how it works:
- Order the LifePreserver product for your model. We will fix whatever problem you have with that unit, ship it back to you, and warrant the repair for 90-days.
- Optional: Choose a hard drive size. If you order a hard drive larger than your factory drive, and if your old drive tests fine, we'll attempt to copy your settings and/or programming from the old to the replacement at no additional charge! If you choose not to purchase a larger hard drive, then we will replace your existing drive with a factory-sized replacement if necessary, all as part of the repair service.
- Ship your unit to us (no cables, or remote are necessary) to the address specified in the order confirmation you'll receive via email. We STRONGLY recommend that you include a note with your TiVo letting our techs know the nature of the problem that you're experiencing. This will help expedite your repair. The typical turnaround time for these types of repairs is one to four business days.
The basic cost of the LifePreserver TiVo repair service is $149 for most units, and hard drive replacement kits are discounted when ordered as part of a repair service. In the unlikely event we cannot repair your unit, we will reduce your charge $25, to cover shipping and handling costs. Defective hard drives will be appropriately disposed of and will only be returned upon written request.
