I checked the software and it is v. 3.01. Any other ideas?
Thanks, Romeo

From prior thread:
Please report the version of Tivo software that is on your Tivo. This should be accessible through the settings screens. Tivo software has supported the TivoNet card since version 3.0. If you are backlevel to this, you may have to make a dial-in connection to upgrade, or else use Instantcake (and a larger than stock drive) to get a version >3.0 on the Tivo.

We've lost all connection to the original topic, and thus I am relying on my faltering memory. As I recall, you reported that your Tivo Series 1 with CacheCard card was not receiving an IP address correctly I think you reported that you checked your router's status screen, and it did not show the Tivo listed as a DHCP client. You said you confirmed that you have your dialing prefix set to ",#401" and now have reported that your software is a 3.01. I recall you have cable internet service through a cable modem, and have a router on your home network.
Further suggestions:

It is possible that your CacheCard is not properly installed or is defective. I would remove and reinstall the card on the edgecard connector of your Tivo mainboard. Make sure it is square to the board.

Perhaps you are using a crossover cable between your Tivo and your router, and your router does not correct for this (older ones did not). Check your cable for indications it is a crossover cable. Try another ordinary cable.

Unplug the router from the cable modem, and connect the Tivo directly to the cable modem. See if it can get a DHCP address assignment from your ISP (cable company). If it can, then the problem is probably in your router setup.
