Humax DRT800 with DVD - stuck on welcome screen

This morning my TIVO (HUMAX DRT800 w/DVD) started to make a loud noise and was stuck in the Welcome Screen.

I imagined was the hard drive (the unit is 5 years old). I ordered and downloaded the instant cake software. Then I successfully installed in another hard drive I had and replace the old hard drive that was in the Tivo with the new one with the instant cake sofwtare.

After powering up again. the Tivo is still stuck in the the Welcome Screen (no noise). Would you have any ideas what to do?

I left one of the jumpers in the drive. Took it out and now the Tivo is back. Thanks for a great product and price. I would definitely to anyone that has a Tivo. thnks again

Thanks for sharing this. I had this same problem. Based on other forum posts I was about to assume that my unit was stuck on powering up because of some issue with the hard drive. I was about to instantcake another hard drive and test.

I read this and realized I still had the jumper set to master on my hard drive. I shut down the unit, removed the jumper, restarted the unit, and the unit began working immediately.
