I am thinking about upgrading my Tivo product(Humax model DRT 800)

I saw that instant cake comes as an ISO image........

......... sooooo, if I purchase that product is it possible for me to simply copy that instant cake ISO image onto a hard drive by using an external docking station? Is it just that simple?

Also...... if I use a very large drive(such as a terabyte drive), will it be necessary for me to set up a partition on the drive? Or do I need to make sure that there is only one single partition?

Thanks,

TC

No, you have to burn the ISO to a CD. It is simple, but there are instructions to be followed. If you are not comfortable with any of the steps outlined in the instructions, then a pre-configured kit is probably a better option to consider. Take a look here (http://www.dvrupgrade.com/forums/showthread.php?t=5).

No, not at all. Just follow the instructions, and also reference the release notes for more information and details about drive sizes.
