I used DVR instantcake and PVNET HD cd on HR10-250. I have a USB200M adapter that lights up, but my network does not see it. I also used a Airlink 100 and a Trendnet TU-ET100C adapter with the same results. I have DHCP on and it works because it sees my UMPC wireless connection. My telnet work and I can access by serial, but nothing else. I spent hours looking and trying stuff. Please advise. Thanks.

Martin,

I don't fully understand what you've said here. You said that your network doesn't see the unit, but you've also said that telnet works.

Can you please rephrase your question and please be more specific. As for "trying stuff" - what did you try (specifically); the more information you provide, the easier it will be to get you on the right path...

Of course, I'm assuming that you already reviewed this information on using PTVnet drives (http://www.dvrupgrade.com/forums/showthread.php?t=20), yes?

My serial connection work, I get a Bash connection.

The usb adapter is lighing up, but my router is not picking it up and assigning the tivo an IP address therefore I can't get access to TWP or other features.

What IP address do I use to get TWP?

The tivo is not showing up on the Clients list on my router

From the sounds of it, there is something wrong with your network.

What type of router do you have?
Have you tried different ports, cables, etc?

If you can get BASH access to your unit through the serial port, then it sounds like the software was installed properly, but if don't see the IP address using your clients table, or are unable to find your IP address using AngryIP, then something else is going on.

You'll need to do some additional troubleshooting to isolate the problem.

The router I have is a CradlePoint. I'm using my USB Sierra Wireless Aircard 595U sprint connection for my internet.

What troubleshooting tips do you suggest?

Thanks

Eliminate as many variables as possible... pare down your network to the bare minimum, swap out components, try a different router if you can, try different ports, settings, cables, etc..

Thanks, I will try.

I was watching the tivo boot up on the terminal window and saw this. Is this why my adapter is not working?

usb.c: USB device 2 (vend/prod 0xb95/0x7720) is not claimed by any active driver.
ehci-dummy: dummy EHCI module loaded

Thanks for your help, it was my router. The one wired connection on my router was a internet port, not a LAN port.

Since I have no LAN ports on my router, I had to go the wireless route using USB200M 2.0 and a DWL-820 wireless bridge.

I'm all set up now.
