I am running 3.5c (9/7/07 release) on my Series1-DSR6000 , my drive size is a single 500GB

When I try following the NetReady steps

http://www.dvrupgrade.com/dvr/stores/1/install-core-and-tivoweb.cfm

Every time when I try >> 5. send PTVtivoweb.tar.gz my unit will reboot (try couple time and it fail) , I am able to do step 1-4 without problem and even able to telnet to my box , but one sending the PTVtivoweb.tar.gz , unit reboot.

==== Log ====
ftp> cd /var/tmp
250 Directory change successful.
ftp> send PTVnetready.tivoweb
200 PORT command successful.
150 Opening BINARY mode data connection for PTVnetready.tivoweb.
226 File transfer complete.
ftp: 5508 bytes sent in 0.01Seconds 550.80Kbytes/sec.
ftp> send PTVtivoweb.tar.gz
200 PORT command successful.
150 Opening BINARY mode data connection for PTVtivoweb.tar.gz.

*** My Unit Reboot right here and couldn't transfer the file ***
== Log ===

Is there anything changed from 3.5b to 3.5c to prevent install NetReady ? Any tips for me ?

Thanks,

Lou Jacob

Sounds like your problem is more fundamental than just "NetReady" - unless I am misunderstanding something, your unit is rebooting itself in the middle of transferring a file while using FTP.

I'd try to narrow it down by trying a different FTP client, and perhaps moving a different file to see if that makes a difference.

My guess is that you may have a bad drive (you already ran diagnostics on it, RIGHT?), but if you don't you could have a loose cable, or perhaps your networking card is not installed correctly.

Definitely some variables to eliminate there...

Hi Lou,

The NetReady is there , after send over the .NETREADY file , i am able to telnet and see the bash , I don't think is bad drive or hardware related because every transfer on PTVnetready.tivoweb is successful. Once transfer PTVtivoweb.tar.gz and it will reboot then of course the FTP timeout.

I have repeated the process like 5-10 times and it reboot right at the step 5. , btw, i am running the new 3.5c on my single 500GB .
