I have had this Pioneer 810H since 2005 and basically used it everyday with no problems. We had a short power out (10-15 seconds) during the morning and when I turned the unit on later that night, I got the Powering On light on front of unit and the gray powerring up screen.

I looked these problems and most suggest harddrive failure, but could be a power supply.

Here is what I utimately want, so can you please advise me on how to do this. I am not afraid to do it myself, but would also be willling to have it done for me with unit tested.

I have the 80gb drive with lifetime subscription. I would upgrade to 180gb drive (I don't remember exactly as I viewed some options earlier). I know I can easily swaap drives out, but am interested in getting everything, SeasonPass and existing recordings transferred over also.

So the software you supply Test my current hard drive if loaded into a computer? Is there a possibility to correct a hard drive problem? What kind of problems can be fixed?

Can I, with your software and complete instructions, format, copy SeasonPass and recordings over to a new hard drive I purchase from you?

Lastly, my cable company is forcing digital signals and tell me I have to use an adapter with IR for each unit. I have a Replay, VCR and this Pioneer unit, so that means 3 adapters?
Is there a CableCard option instead? How will that help me?

Lastly, I saw a page about a power supply protector. What is that cost? I have Surge protection on whole house and protected outlets and still have electrical problems. Is this then necessary?

I would appreciate knowing what can be done for my questions so I can plan accordingly. I miss my SeasonPass so badly and can't wait to get this unit fixed as soon as possible.
