Thanks for your quick reply. When I go to System Information it still says 6.2

Thanks for your quick reply. When I go to System Information it still says 6.2 That is the correct version. Does your router keep track of the DHCP addresses it has handed out? It should be tied to the mac address of your USB ethernet adapter. Also will need the gateway address. These can normally be gotten by issuing the ipconfig /all at the CMD prompt.

Yes Router hands out IP and Gateway info and has done so properly for over a year. But now when you boot the tivo on the network, the router does not see it. Network cable is alive as I can connect on the same cable with a laptop for testing purposes.
My question is, can the network portion of Instant Cake be repaired without clearing the drive. I have some pretty important stuff recorded that I would like to avoid losing. Thanks for your input >>> Chuck

Thanks for your input >>> Chuck Yes PTVnet I believe can be run without Instantcake and used to restore the config. I have not done this myself but believe it can be done. I would send a private message to Lou Jacob before I tried just to be sure. Good Luck. Remember PTVnet only.
