View Full Version : No S3 software upgrade after InstantCake

I completed an InstantCake installation on a fresh drive on my Series 3 last night and everything seems to be working fine...except the software will not upgrade.

Instantcake laid down version 9.2a and no matter how many times I connect and reboot, the software version doesn't upgrade.

I also tried the Kickstart code 56 to force the upgrade, but after a period of time, this resulted in a frozen screen with a text message stating that there was a network error and the remote directory could not be found, and forced a hard reboot (unplug) to get it running again.

Any ideas??

Update: It finally worked. After the 6th manual connect to service/restart dvr, it installed the latest software and I'm good to go. Excellent!
