I can't believe how hard this process is with the InstantCake install.

What am I doing wrong?

I have an Drive adapter connected to a USB Port on my Win XP notebook with the Drive I wish the new Tivo Setup to go.

I used your Ptvnet then InstantCake discs and using the Primary/Primary route I ended up copying the software on my C:disk! Now I have Operating System Not Found. But I wish the TV back online before messing now with my PC.

I've taken out the Primary C: drive on the this notebook to not confuse your process. But now I either get "Unable to open the destination" or "CD-Rom not Mounted".

Which device settings work for a ext drive and a regular notebook? Primary/Secondary Slave Master or just give me the 3 letter codes.

Thanks

Steve

It's been a few years since I've done one but it appears that you are mounting the wrong drive. After the machine boots to linux you can scroll up with the arrow keys and see what drive letter is assigned to your external drive and then select that as your destination. IC will then mount that drive and finish. If you watch closely you can see it as it scrolls while booting also. I'm not sure about the finer details but essentially that should work. good luck, kevin
