Hi,

So I was able to "InstantCake and PTVNet" a drive and all seems to be well on my Hughes HDVR2. I would now like to backup the drive at the point I have all my season passes setup and other configuration performed, in addition to the configuration already performed upon setting up PTVNet (all the flags that were set). What is the best approach to backing up the drive?

Kurtgo to MFSlive.org download MFSlive-1.3b.iso create cd and use ICG to create a backup. Good Luck :)

This won't work on R-10 Series 2 DirectV type setups. You have to settle for losing all your content if you InstantCake your drive, and start from scratch.

I was talking about series II no one said anything about an R10 which is known as series 2.5. I only have series II which is all I talk about. Don't make assumptions and read your agenda into my statements. I was asked a question on an HDVR2 of which I own 2 both of which are Inactive. I was talking about the HDVR2 and nothing else. This is meant to be a help forum not a controversy forum. If you look throughout this forum how many times have you seen LOU state do not mix manufacturers and software version. This is why he says it. the R10 is a Directv model, not an RCA, Philips, Hughes or Samsung which is what a series two is. It is Directv's attempt to reduce hacking and was made by them not to work. This is why prior to 6.3e it always carried a different software version number(6.1 vs. 6.2). Listen to LOU he is almost always right.( I say almost because none of us are perfect)
