I purchased a pre-hacked DirecTiVo HR10-250 a while back, upgraded once using Slicer, and have had the unit on my network before. Recently it just disappeared, and won't get a DHCP address or appear on the network.
So, I hooked the serial cable into the TiVo, hooked it up to my Mac via a USB->Serial converter... and now I have no idea what to do.
I've searched these forums and others, figuring the instructions would be easy to find, but I can't seem to locate them.
Long story short: I've got the cables ready and hooked up... how do I use BASH to talk to my TiVo?

if you are using a serial cable, you'll need to use some sort of terminal emulation program to do it (in windows, we use teraterm pro or hyperterminal); there should be a mac equivalent.
before you head down that road, however, consider the fact that the reason you may have lost network connectivity is due to a software update. what version of the software was running on your tivo when you purchased it from us and what version is running on it now? if it has updated, then the networking software will have been overwritten and we'd need to reinstall it to get you going...

When I get home, I can see what version I'm running. I used Slicer once, and I don't remember what the version is. Networking was still working fine after the Slice operation. It's only a recent thing wherein I haven't been able to see the DTiVo.
