I just bought a Philips DSR708 that was already upgraded, so I don't really know much about what I'm doing. I know I should be able to use my home network instead of the phone line to connect to the tivo service, but I don't know how. I thought when you were connected, the "Phone Settings" turned into "Phone and Network Settings", but it hasn't. Am I missing something? I thought maybe I lost everything when I connected to the phone line, but I am still able to access TivoWeb, and I have even used TyTool to transfer a few recordings. I see "Music & Photos" in my menu (version 6.2), but nothing about a network. Speaking of "Music & Photos", do I need Tivo Desktop to get that to work? Any help at all would be appreciated. Thanks.

UPDATE:
I came home from work and the "Music & Photos" menu was gone, and I am no longer able to access TivoWeb or TivoFTP. I checked my system information and it looks like I was upgraded to version 6.3e, and it looks like it had just successfully connected to the tivo service, even though I haven't been connected to a phone line for about a week. Any thoughts at all?

Where did you purchase this unit? We do not sell anything for the DSR704 that includes TiVoWebPlus and TyTool, so its not clear how to answer your question.

I got it on ebay, and the seller pointed me here. It already had TivoWeb, but I read on a forum somewhere to try TyTool and it worked (until the firmware got upgraded somehow). I just received a cd with all the info and files I need, so unles there is an easier way, I guess I'll have to start from scratch.

Interesting. Well, you should go back to the seller and ask for a refund. They did not have a right to sell you what they offered you and they certainly shouldn't be expecting us to support it for them. At a minimum, they should be supporting you, not pawning you off onto the people they stole from in the first place.

Sorry, but this is not something we can help you with, and it is disturbing to know that folks out there have that sort of approach to doing business.

Okay, thanks.
