My tivo was conncted to a ups with that I just found out had a bad battery. The result was that each time it displayed the starting up screen, the power got cut about 2-3x.
Now I've unplugged it from that ups, but I think some damage was done, at least configuration wise. It's working fine by the remote, but I ftp'ed in and noticed two rc.sysinit.author files in the ptvupgrade/etc dir, and one has a ~ at the end of it. I thought there was only supposed to be one?
Also, tivoweb didn't start up automatically like it usually does, altho I checked both versions of rc.sysinit.author and it was listed for it to start. Likewise, the gotomydvr program is listed but it didn't start. Once I started it manually, it only worked for a few screens and then quit communicating with the gotomydvr site.
Yet, it could telnet and ftp into my tivo fine after it finished starting up for the first time since the reboots. Also, my tivo is no longer listed in my dhcp router table at all, even tho I can access it via tivowebplus.
Any thoughts?
thanks.
