:mad:I have a SD-DVR40 (HDVR2) upgraded to a 200GB HD with PTVNET & Instant Cake 6.2. I am using a Wired USB D-Link DUB-E100 w/ hardware version A1. Everything I am using I have checked out to be compatible with each other and the TIVO items. I can see the TIVO on my router (D-link Gamerlounge). I cannot connect to the TIVO unit using FTP or ttermpro. It has an ip address assigned to it using DHCP. The lights are on and the link status is solid and the TX/RX is flashing. I still cannot however connect to it to establish a way to transfer files.:mad:

A pic is attached showing that it is seen by my router.

DUB-E100 by D-link is not a supported adapter - that is your problem - it will not work. Sorry

My adapter is in the list - that is why I purchased 2 of them.

D-Link DUB-E100 (versions A1 & A2)

The TRENDnet is not even on the list.

Here is the list of supported adapters:
* Netgear FA120
* Hawking UF200
* Linksys USB200M (v1 and v2)
* Trendnet TU2-ET100 (available directly from DVRupgrade)
You will note that D-Link DUB-E100 (versions A1 & A2) is not on the list. The list can be found in the first two PTVnet forums, Perhaps you misread the list.:)
You were reading the wrong list. The list you read was for the Straight TiVo not for the Directv TiVo which is what you have.

of the 3 links above your last post I see 3 different pictures. I was looking for the best price and found these 3. Which one is the correct one? They all have the same model number but look different.

I purchased 2 of the Trendnet TU2-ET100 adapters. (I did also try both USB adapters & they work fine on my computer.) I plugged one into my SD-DVR40 (HDVR2). The 100Mbps light comes on but the link light is not on. I set a static ip for it by using a reserved ip on my router for the mac it uses.. I then tried it without my mac address filter. still nothing. I am really tired of spending more money to get this thing to network.

Suggest you use IP scanner such as IPscan to verify you are using correct IP's
free download at www.angryziber.com good luck:)

I have used that and they are all in compliance. I also use Terra Term pro to try to access it using the ip address no luck there.

Keep the ideas coming I would like to solve this. Then I can post the fix for others to use.

I am using Tivo software version 6.3e-01-2-151 if that makes a difference.

My Tivo Series 2 vTCD140060 was in a boot loop where it would start to power up and then just keep repeating so I just purchased Instant Cake to replace the original drive with a 80 GB Maxtor. Now it boots just fine, but the it will not connect to my network.

Sometimes it says the adapter, a Tivo Wireless model, is not present and sometimes after unplugging and replugging the Tivo, it says the adapter is there, BUT it will not see my network after entering the SSID.

Does anyone have any suggestions? I have tried all of the troubleshooting as shown on the Tivo screen to no avail.

Many thanks for any help

Try either connecting to a 'hard-wired' network with an older USB 1.1 or USB 2.0 Ethernet adapter, or using a phone to connect and download the latest version of the software from TiVo. The version used with InstantCake (7.2.0) does not have drivers for the newer wireless G adapter from TiVo...
