I had bought the PTVNET to enable the network connection and I think I screwed something up. After using the disk when it boots up first it shows the regular powering up message then it shows a new black and red logo. After a while, it reboots. Repeat. Over and over.

Ok here are my questions. 1, is there a fix. 2, if I get the instantcake cd and regen the drives as they are now... will it keep the already recorded shows? 3, if not... if I regen another HD from instantcake, is there anyway to get the shows from the old drives to the new one?

Thanks in advance.

found on ccs corporation website:
"Problem: When powered, unit Cycles between the above two screens and appears to reboot.

Cause: Power Supply not correctly supplying 3.3 Volts to the Main Circuit Board."

it appears your power supply has gone bad.:(

Thanks for the response. I think the real root of the problem was that I used the PTVNet on a drive that was not formatted with mfstools. Evidently this is a no no, and left it in a rather sad state. I bought a new drive and formatted with instantcake and has been working like a champ ever since. I still need to research to find out if I can save the programming on the old drives (and I think I can if I can find the proper image to use with mfstools and overwrite what PTVNet wrote to go back to "standard" programming).

Thanks again

Just an FYI, we do now sell TiVo power supplies that would fix this problem.
