I recently ordered InstantCake and PTVnet CDs (which haven't arrived yet) to upgrade and network my Samsung S4040Rs. I just found that one of the recently acquired S4040Rs (purchased through eBay) doesn't accept input on "Satellite In 1" so is unusable. In looking for a replacement unit on eBay, it appears that I may end up getting an S4080R or an S4120R instead of another S4040R.
The question I have is whether my soon to arrive CDs will work with these larger capacity models, or will I have to get new disks? When ordering, there was a separate selection for those two model numbers, hence an apparent different CD. (I tried asking Customer Service about this, but they replied that they don't answer ANY questions about these CDs) Logically it would seem that there shouldn't be a problem as you would be upgrading the "same" basic machine (but with an already larger disk) to an even larger disk. However, if this were the case, I would guess that DVRUpgrade wouldn't have a different disk for the two larger models. So, if a "new" disk with different instructions is needed, is it possible to patch the ones I've bought but not used yet, now in route? If so, where might I find the info to do this?
