OK, I've used Instantcake 6.3f and PTVnet 6.3 to upgrade my 10-250. Network is working fine I can see it in a web browser. However the picture freezes about every minute which drives me up a wall. This is my second install. First I was replacing my 2 drive system and since I wanted to hack it and save my original drives I went the Instantcake route. I used 2 stock Maxtor 250 gig drives. I was getting the stuttering which I do not get with the original drives. Figured the drives couldn't handle it so said what the hell and got a Seagate DB35 series 750 gig drive. The drive is built for DVR's and gives me 50 million hours of recording time :-) Ran the drive test, tested out just fine. Did the Instantcake and PTnet install, with no trouble. Fire it up and same stuttering. I can't live with that. Is it trying to load guide information and that will go away once the program guide is populated? Of if it's stuttering now will it continue to do so? Could it be the PTVnet hack? Could I just build a new drive with Instantcake and be stutter free? So far the hack hasn't worked very well for me. On the first build on the Maxtor drives I was trying to set a static IP address. Teleneted in via the network connection. Was slugish at best and none of the commands seemed to produce the results that were outlined. I don't know if the command set has changed with 6.3f?? What worked as outlined was turning on both component and HDMI ports which is basically the only reason why I want to hack the TIVO. Commands seemed to produced the results as outlined, and I think I had both component and HDMI working after sending the commands but that went away soon afterwords. Then it was stuttering so bad I figured I'd get a new drive in before screwing with it again. Now I'm going to wait till I resolve the stuttering before I do anything else. I will gladly give up hacking ability for a stable picture. Any suggestions on what I should try?

Thanks,

Mine has been doing the same thing. Let me know if you find a fix.
