View Full Version : does 6.3f support MRV for HR10-250?

I heard that only 6.2 for HR10-250 supports MRV, if that is true, where can I get the image for 6.2 since I don't see it is listed here in DVRupgrade site. Thanks.

There is no MRV support in 6.3 versions of the software. MRV can be enabled (through hackery) with 6.2a of the software, however there is no MRV for the HR10-250, only standard-definition DirecTV TiVo units.

are you saying that even after the PTVNet software there is no Multiroom viewing? I was recently given 2 hr10-250 units. I do not have nor will I add HD from Directv at this time...viewing and recording only standard definition programs. I want to network and view recorded programs in another room (on a similar device or one of the DS directivo devices) that was recorded on this device. Does your Instant Cake and PTVNet give me that ability (assuming all devices have the proper image and networking software loaded)?

None of our products give you the MRV capability. InstantCake is for building large hard drives. PTVnet is for enabling the USB ports, installing telnet/ftp and TiVoWebPlus. That is it.

MRV can be enabled on standard-definition units running version 6.2a of the software; but not version 6.3 or 6.4 of the software because the code that was hidden in the 6.2 version of the software has been removed. That code never existed on the HR10-250 platform, so regardless of the software version on your HR10-250, you can't use MRV; its just not there...

Since you stated that it is the newer version that eliminated the MRV code, can I buy the older version? My goal is MRV and I am hoping that you still have the last image that has it in there.

Of course I would guess that the related PTVNet version that corresponds with the older version would be needed as well.
