Downloaded instantcake 2 about 30 min. ago, burned iso image. setup primary ide with cdrom drive as slave as instructed in instructions, 2nd ide cable 20gb hd setup for master (formatted fat32), run instant cake. get

mount: /dev/ is not a block device
/etc/rc.d/rc.S: /cdrom/.live/bin/PTVbake: no such file or directory
/#

what gives?

I do have a new 160gb drive on order but would still be able to watch something in the meantime while I wait for it to arrive, other than dvd's while recovering from back surgery in my bedroom recliner!!

Thanks!
Angela

do you have tne cdrom on the middle ide connectror? Drive must be in the slave position not the master position. your normal master should be in the master position and jumpered as master.

... into the DIY software discussions area; the error you are receiving is definitely an indication that your drives are not connected properly. Make sure to not use cable-select (set your jumpers so that you KNOW which devices is the master or slave) and ensure your BIOS is configured correctly as well.

Do a search on the word "directory (http://www.dvrupgrade.com/forums/search.php?searchid=39338)" and you'll see where others have brought this up, as well.

Had to disable sata drives, it worked. so i at least have tv until tomorrow when my 160mg drive shows up.

Makes sense and glad you got it working; for anyone else reading this thread: This is also mentioned in the Instructions (http://www.dvrupgrade.com/forums/showthread.php?t=5&highlight=disable+sata), so please ensure you review them prior to using the software.

Success with InstantCake? Please post a success story (http://www.dvrupgrade.com/forums/showthread.php?t=13) here!
