Hello all,

I purchased the appropriate Instant Cake over the weekend to create a new 250GB drive for my S2 140060. After a couple of hiccups during baking (wrong drive letters, master vs. slave CD drive) it is working fine. However, the TTG, MRV and Video downloads intermittently works. Sometimes the feature is there, sometimes it's not. I can connect to the the TiVo service successfully every time. I've been using a 3Com USB-Ethernet adapter, which TiVo officially supports, that I have been using with the S2 with no problem before I replaced the original drives. IC's image does contain the feature for TTG, MRV, etc., right? Do I need to wait a couple of days for the features to stabilize or after the TiVo does a couple of calls to TiVo? It's annoying, making me wonder if IC was a good purchase. Thanks.

Sounds more like you might have a problem on your network.

Remember, InstantCake is just a tool used to reimage a drive for your TiVo; there are no changes made to the software which is actually installed on your TiVo, so the functionality and reliability offered as part of TiVo's software shouldn't change at all....

Nope, no problems with my network. But, it looks like the network features are holding. I guess it takes time for the TiVo to "stabilize" itself and validate my account with TiVo HQ.
