I have two Dtivo's. A HR10-250 and a DSR7000. It looks like I can get PTVNet for 6.4a with the HR10-250 but what about my DTivo DSR7000, is there a PTVNet for it with 6.4a and the DSR7000? Also, what is the difference between a DSR7000 and DSR7000R?

PTVnet for the HR10-250 and for the DSR7000 are two different products.

The PTVnet product for the HR10-250 is available for 6.4a, and you can find more information about it here (http://www.dvrupgrade.com/dvr/stores/1/product1.cfm?SID=1&Product_ID=781&Category_ID=5&page=prod&type=Model&ModelID=101).

The PTVnet product for the DSR7000 is available only for 6.2a, and you can find more information about it here (http://www.dvrupgrade.com/dvr/stores/1/product1.cfm?SID=1&Product_ID=319&Category_ID=5&page=prod&type=Model&ModelID=72). Currently, there is no support for PTVnet on 6.4a running on any standard definition systems.

If you are already running 6.4a on your SD system (like your DSR7000) and you are looking to use PTVnet, the easiest way to go about it is to use PTVnet in conjunction with InstantCake 6.2a (http://www.dvrupgrade.com/dvr/stores/1/product1.cfm?SID=1&Product_ID=67&Category_ID=5&page=prod&type=Model&ModelID=72) and build yourself a new drive. If you do that, you'll have the option of unlocking other features, such as HMO as described in articles such as this one (http://www.dvrupgrade.com/forums/showthread.php?t=9)...

There is no difference between the DSR7000 and the DSR7000R; the software is identical as well as everything else as far as we've always been able to see.

Hope that helps,

Lou
