I just upgraded HR10-250, to Seagate db35 750gb PATA hard drive. I used PTVNet and Instant Cake (latest version for HR10-250, 6.4a), followed the instructions, cables right, jumper right. Everything went great, this is a super product! I placed new Hard drive in, booted, ran new guided setup, but my problem now is 1.) Slow response to remote, 2.) Freezing 3.) Pixelation:confused:. Non of these problems where there before the upgrade.
Any ideas as to why? Should I just re-PTVNet & re-Bake ????
Thanks in advance!:D

If by "just" you mean within the last few hours, then your TiVo is probably busy downloading and indexing information and guide data from the satellite. Those system intensive tasks will take precedence over interactive requests from the remote and could also cause the freezing and pixelation you are seeing.
If it was awhile ago that you did the upgrade, then you might have a different problem. Did you run diagnostics on the drive before you prepared it for installation in your unit? Hopefully, you did and it checked out alright. If you didn't, then you should.
You could have also bumped the white cable that connects the front panel to your system board; if you did, and its loose, it could cause a problem. Unplug your unit before touching it though; if it is loose and you try to reseat it while the unit is on, you could fry it for good...

Thanks for the quick reply Lou. It has been a few days since I upgraded so everything should have d/l ok. I did not run a diagnostics on the new (out of the box) drive. I was carefule not to dislodge the white cable. Should I 1.) pull drive & run Seagate diagnostics, then reload PTVNet & Instant Cake? or 2.) Wait a few more days and see if it was just a downloading (from DirecTV) problem? I know Iknow wait the few days, right!

I pulled the drive ran seagate diagnostics, no problems noted, hard drive passed all test. I re-baked instant cake with PTVNet, everything went smooth. I placed hard drive back in my HR10-250, carefully watching to be sure the white cable was not dislodged. I started the TiVo at 5pm central 7/21/08, at this time 2pm central 7/22/08, I am still seeing the picture freeze (Sat & OTA) for a few seconds, a slow response to the remote and pixelation on the OTA broadcast. Will this situation correct itself with more time? There was no problem with the orginal drive except OTA pixelation. Advise??
