I down loaded instantcake but I can not get it to boot. I've unzipped it, burnt the image to cd, and tried to add a boot sector, but to no avail.I first used a dos boot and I was going to use a windows xp boot but I have read that you should not use windows in a tivo. Does anyone know what boot I need and where to find it? Thanks, Al
Disregard I figured out that the boot sector is in the image. I feel like a dope.

i think i may have had the same problem. once you unzip the instantcake file..it gets unzipped as an iso file. you have to burn that file as an iso file. can't just drag/drop it.
that partly worked for me. i'm having another problem.
good luck

Is this the message that you're getting: No ISAPnP cards found, trying standard ones . . .
That's my problem.
As for making a bootable CD, in Nero the choice is 'bootable CD' and not 'iso mode' and you have to select the advanced options in order to see this option.

Your PC is too old, it is mid 90's. you can't expect a 15 year old machine to run current software. ISA was discontinued about 1996 :(

How are you burning your ISO to CD?
The words 'add a boot sector' are sending up red flags here - you do not need to do this if you are burning the ISO as an image to CD.
More details about the software you are using and the steps you are taking will definitely yield responses that are more likely to guide you in the correct direction.
