Hi all :)

I have an Intel DG33TL motherboard. (Only ONE IDE port)
I have purchased Instantcake SW-ICAKE-S2SA-DL-649 InstantCake for Series2 Standalone TiVo Units (download)
I have a Seagate 250GB IDE HDD that is brand new
I have a Lite-on DVDRW that is SATA

I've currently got all other devices unplugged from SATA / IDE ports except the HDD I'm imaging, and the DVD drive. I have enabled legacy support in my BIOS.

My issue is that no matter what jumper settings I use on the HDD, and what SATA port I plug my DVD drive into... Instantcake cannot seem to get the names of the devices right. At this moment, I have figured out how to get my SATA dvd drive recognized as hda, but the IDE HDD is being recognized as hdj for some reason. I've been at this for nearly a week now... can anybody help me? I'm more than willing to talk by phone too if that will make it easier for both of us.

Thanks!!
Brent

That version of InstantCake does not support SATA drives (the only version that does is the version for Series3/TiVoHD units) so you'll either need to use a different PC, or connect a PATA/IDE CD/DVD drive.

Remember, the requirements for InstantCake are to have a CD drive connected as the primary slave of your first IDE controller, and you can use the secondary IDE interface for your drive (secondary master or secondary slave).
