I have a version of instantcake from 2005, I tried to upgrade to a 500gb seagate, everything seemed to work okay with the bake and everyhting, but when I replace it in my seires 2 Tivo I get the GSOD. The drive works fine in my windows machine and formats to 465GB no problems. any suggestion!!!!!

Do a low-level format before running an Instantcake install, do not format with windows.

I am not run windows and linux at the same time, I disconnected my hard drive with windows installed and booted from the Instantcake CD. Everything was okay, came back and said that the bake was okay. Since I got the GSOD I wanted to make sure the drive was okay and not defective. I will low level format it and see what happens. Thanks for the tip!
