I moved a good working PTVnet harddrive from one DTivo directly to another and I got a "hardware problem" upon booting, I ended up running a "clear and delete everything" which was the only thing that eliminated that error. At that point I was receiving channels but to enable the NPL it directs me to make a test call but when I try to use the "internet" option it didn't allow that flexibility as an option. When I go "setup, phone that option isn't there. I don't want to use the phone to make the test call. I followed the procedures for
"Configuring PTVnet to make calls using Internet connection instead of phoneline"
and used telnet to change the "NETWORK_CALL" so it is now "on" (which clearly indicates that I have PTVnet version 1.1 or newer). I rebooted but the Network option still doesn't appear.
I seem to recall from prior forum browsing that there is a way to by pass this issue.
