Hello,

I have a Toshiba SD-H400 that I just upgraded with a 320 GB hard drive using InstantCake. All went smoothly. I then Re-installed the drive, connected everything, powered up, and went through Guided Setup. Guided Setup completed without any apparent problems but when I go to watch Live TV, all I get is a black blank screen. The Guide comes up, I can go to Tivo Central, I can basically do anything, but LiveTV doesn't work.

I suspect the problem to be the inputs but can't figure it out. I have DirecTV service and am using the IR blasters. I ruled out the possibility of bad A/V cables by connecting the DirecTV receiver straight to the television which worked fine. I even tried the RF input from the DirecTV receiver which I know works fine, and still, nothing but a blank black Live TV screen. I also tried erasing the hard disk and starting over through the Reset menu in Tivo Central.

Does anyone have any suggestions as to what the problem might be?

Thanks for your time!

Hi -

I'm having the same issue with my TCD540080. I used the instantcake for my Tivo and everything we successful except for the video to come through. If I take the Tivo out of the equation everything works and I have video. I have a black screen after it processed all the downloads and updates, etc.

I was not able to make a copy of my original Tivo drive because it completely crashed. I am using a 200gig Maxtor HDD.

Any help would be great.

Good chance that when you went through guided setup you did not select the correct inputs for the source of your video signal... I'd double check that, and also ensure that you've connected your cables to the correct jacks on the back of the TiVo...

Everything is hooked up correctly. I double and triple checked it last night. It says signal detected but no video comes through.
