Hello:
Where can I get PTVnetHD6.3d with linux kernel 2.4.4. The one I downloaded has kernel 2.4.28 and does not recognize my drives correctly. InstantcakeHD6.3d which has 2.4.4 kernel works fine, but I want to install networking. My system has 2 cd drives and 3 ide hard drives (1 windows - disconnected) and Tivo 1 & 2. If i boot the ptvnet cd then the cdroms show up as hda & hdb and no other drives hdc-hdh. If I boot the Instantcake CD first and use advanced mode, then Tivo1=hdc Tivo2=hdd cdrom1=hde cdrom2=hdf and the cake bakes OK. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Sounds like you are talking about the kernel on the boot CD and not PTVnet itself (PTVnet installs a kernel on your TiVo).

Not sure that its just the kernel that is affecting the recognition of your CD-ROM devices, though, but you can try just booting from the InstantCake CD, and then unmounting and ejecting the CD-ROM, inserting the PTVnet CD-ROM and then manually running the PTVnet script.

If you are unfamiliar with the linux commands you'll need to do all of that, you might be better off just considering a PTVnet kit which has been pre-made for your TiVo, but beyond that, trying a different PC may solve the problem as well.
