Unable To Get TivoWebPlus Working

I have setup a Series 2 DirecTV Tivo with InstantCake 6.4a and PTVnet 6.x. I can see it on the network and telnet and ftp. What I cannot do it connect to it via a web browser to TivoWebPlus. I even tried to telnet to port 80 and there is no answer. As I said both telnet and FTP are working.

Any ideas? Does the daemon not start automatically?

Telnet will not work on port 80 as port 80 is used for http. Perhaps try restarting your unit to see if TiVoWebPlus starts up normally or try manually starting it from the telnet prompt:


/ptvupgrade/tivowebplus/tivoweb console

Thanks Lou a reboot did it for some reason. The telnet to port 80 was merely to check and see if anything was listening on that port. If the HTTP daemon was running it would return some kind of connection (you can try it). Whereas if there was nothing listening on port 80 (ie, nothing running) then it would never let the telnet client connect.

I wonder why a simple reboot this time fixed it... well thanks for your help! It is running great so far.

I had the same problem , network config wasnt always finishing before tivowebplus tried to start if it doesnt have an IP yet it fails to start. You might try a sleep after the network config but before the tivowebplus start if it continues to happen. (my 2 cents)

Sounds like a great idea! I do notice that the network does take a long time to initalize. Thanks for the advice.
