Sounds like the drive you are using is too small.

What type of unit do you have and what InstantCake are you using? How are the drives connected to your PC and how is your CD-ROM configured?

Please review the instructions. Its obvious from your response that you are using a hard drive that is too small, but also keep in mind that you need to know how your drives and CD-ROM are attached to ensure things on your PC are configured correctly.

Instructions link below...How is it too small? 80GB HDD - 649(080) Tivo?

Is HDD came out of a old DT Tivo(that was in use in a computer then I wanted to put in back in a 649 Tivo)

From the instructions:

We do not recommend you use your existing TiVo disk drive for InstantCake installations, in fact, in many cases it will not work: the target drive is expected to be larger than the original - please keep your TiVo drive in a safe place as a backup; at least until you've used InstantCake successfully at least once.

I am getting the same error. I am putting a new drive in a TIVO HD. I am using a 160gb WD drive that was originally format under windows. Any clues?
