Trying to debug an issue. I have a the following iso that I burned to a CD using MagicISO

instantcake-hr10-250-1.2-6.4a-01-2-357.iso

I see the following files on the CD after burn

.images (folder)
.live (folder)
isolinux (folder)
autorun.inf
ptstart.exe

cd-rom configured as primary slave
HD connected on secondary IDE
all other drives have been disconnected.

power up PC

then I get this error:
PXE-E61 Media test failure, check cable

This "seems" to indicate that either my HD or my CD rom is not connected properly.

However, the odd thing is that I also have PTV LBA48 boot CD and this WILL boot up with same HW configuration. Once I am at linux prompt, I remove CD and insert my instantcake CD.

then type
"mount /dev/hda /cdrom"

from here I can see all the files that are on my instantcake CD. So I believe this to be working.

Only thing left is my virgin 500GB Western Digital drive. Do I need to format it before hand? Is Instantcake looking for this during bootup?

Am I missing something here?

Nevermind. Got it working. Turned out to be an ISO burn issue. Apparently MagicISO is not as "magic" as one would think.........

My understanding is that MagicISO can be used to burn a bootable CD, but it has to be done correctly. If you can document the steps you took to burn your CD it might help someone else out who encounters the same problem in the future...
