Can use some advise - Repair

I have a Phillips Series 1 Model HDR31202. This unit has lifetime subscription from way back. I had thi unit upgraded a few years back, but at that time I guess the way it was done involved a second hard drive. So there are two drives in the unit.

I just purchased Instant cake and a WD Cavier SE16 500gb HDD.

I was told by a friend that I can move to a single drive install.

Can anyone tell me if this is the case and what if anything I need to know in order to NOT SCREW THIS UP!!!!

Make sure the drive is set to Master. Instantcake should do the rest. Do not use cable select.
