The program itself is very DOS-like... Linux-like. It doesn't have any drive mapping even though it seems to find the drive and its location during bootup, the swr doesn't use that information to configure the location of drives... You need to put the CD on Primary Slave and the new TIVO drive on Secondary Master.

Bought instant cake a couple days ago... instructions in the readme are very good. I determined from the BIOS that I had CD on Primary Slave and the Drive on Secondary Master.

I executed IC and when it got to the end of the extraction phase (phase 1) the program failed with an Error Msg Cannot Continue.

I did what others have tried, changed the drive cables, reburned the ISO using ISO BUSTER instead of Roxio... no difference.

I changed machines and tried it again... this time I got compression errors on boot up. I changed CD drives and voila... software went to a successful end of job...

Total time to bake this 250gb cake was around 4 hours... It'd be much better to just buy the drive from someone than try and do this by yourself, unless you were going to do a lot of drives...

Since I have 2 tivos it makes sense... the next one will take me 20 minutes.
