I should be done with this process by now but I'm stuck at one of the initial steps of IC. I can't get the cdrom (or in this case DVD-R/W) to mount!I have a Dell 530 with a SATA controller and when I power up w/o the IC CD loaded, I get a message that Device 1(SATA-0) and Device 2(SATA-1) are installed. I then loaded the CD and it booted just fine. I have the DVDr/w connected to Device 1 and I'm calling that sda. I have my new harddrive connected to Device 2 and I'm calling that sdb. I correctly indentified these devices during the question/answer part of IC and after I answer y to the last question, I get the ERROR MOUNTING CDROM banner at the top along with a message to try agai using the following command:

mount -o ro -t iso9660 /dev/XXX /cdrom

where XXX is sda, sdb, sdc, etc.

I have tried all sorts of combinations to get this working, including a different DVD writer. Still no go. Does SATA use jumpers on cdroms to differentiate between Master and Slave settings? I didn't think so.

Please help as I've had nothing but issues with this TiVo HD (see my posts at tivocommunity.com) since the DVD eSATA expander drive died and somehow corrupted the internal drive, which necessitated using Instantcake .

These makes us the four of us.
I have this problem to.
I think the problem here is on the hardware itself.
