In Sept 08, I purchased a 500 gb disk for my Philips DSR 704. I hooked it up to the phone line and OOPS, IT upgraded the system and my goodies went away:eek:. On 11/3/08 I had it recertified and after installing it, I set it up to connect via the internet. WELL DUH:(, it upgraded the system again. Another recertification on 11/26/08. Now I think I have learned everything. No Phone Line, No Internet connect. Works good until last week. I switched internet providers to a DSL modem. Had problems with getting that to work and they had me reset the address on my router from 192.168.1.1 to 192.168.2.1. This was last week. I just discovered my MRV has dissappeared! I checked both my Tivo's and the system is now 6.2s-01-2-301 on both my Tivo's. How can this be??? Now I have two Tivo's that need recertification, unless someone can tell me how to fix this. What system should i have?
I believe DVRupgrade should put a bright pink paper in with each drive they sell WARNING, do not allow this unit to connect to the internet or phone in for upgrades. Doing so will cause upgrading the system which will wipe out all upgrades!
