I had an upgraded 200 Gig drive in my series 2 tivo. A few weeks ago it started getting stuck in applying a service update. I took the drive out and confirmed that it was good using Spinrite (grc.com).
Because I was having so many problems I bought instantcake and baked a new image onto the drive. I put it in my TIVO and now it is stuck on powering up despite my confirmation that the drive is good. I can try another drive, but how do I check to see if it is another issue with the Tivo itself? Or should I just open the box on the new 500 gig drive I bought and try that?
