I am just trying to image with the Instant Cake cd to a new hard drive for my series 2 standalone tivo which has only one smaller 80 gig hard drive. I want to remove the 80 gig and install a 160 gig hard drive.
I have been trying for 2 weeks to get InstantCake to work. I have re-downloaded the ISO and burned to different brands of cd and dvd disks. I can boot from the cd and the program runs right up until the part where you hit "ENTER" to bake the hard drive. It fails EVERY time with error
"mount: wrong fs type, bad option, bad superblock on devhdb, or too many mounted file systems.could this be the ide device where you in fact use ide scsi so that sr0 or sda or so is needed?
/etc/rc.d/rc.S: /cdrom/.live/bin/PTVBake: no such file or directory"
This is how I currently have the hardware configured as per the instructions from this site:
Primary IDE: Master = nothing connected
Primary IDE: Slave CD/DVD burner (with jumper pin set to slave and physically on the middle connector on the primary ide cable)
Secondary IDE: Master = New blank 160 gig IDE hard drive (with jumper pin set to master and physically on the end connector on the secondary ide cable)
Secondary IDE: Master = nothing connected
Can anyone help me out or did I just waste $20.00? I already tried a low level format on the hard drive to delete any traces of anything.
Thanks in advance.
