    Restore not successful

I'm trying to bake a new 250GB hd for my series 2, 540. I've tried the bake process a few times and it continues to fail after a few minutes and about 24%, working on 204MB of 882MB total restore. I'm not sure if this is an IC issue or some problem with the hd, how do I troubleshoot?

You may want to take a look through the official InstantCake discussion thread here for more discussion (this issue has come up before). In short, your problem could be:

    1) a bad hard drive - test it if you haven't!
    2) a bad burn - reburn at a slower speed
    3) a problem with your PC or CD-ROM; try a different one if you can!

That should get you on the right track...

I just got a new hard drive and tried IC with the same results, Restore failed: Decompression error.4% while trying to restore 204MB of 882MB. The IC CD that I'm using was purchased from DVRUpgrade, so there'ss no option to burn a new one, now what? My one deviation from the posted instructions was that I was unable to boot from the CD until I used it as a Master in the primary IDE cable.
