Upgraded Phillips DirecTivo - No local Channels - how to upgrade.

I have a Phillips DSR7000 DirecTivo unit which I Upgraded the Hardrive to 160GB and to 6.2 software. I used PTVupgrade CD and Instacakes - this was back in 2005. I have done nothing to the unit since then. I woke up today and found most of my local channels were not in the Guide and would not come in. I searched the net and found several posts stating that for my unit I need to upgrade to 6.4 software for the channels to come back in. What is my best course of action to maintain my mods? Is slicer my best option? If worse, comes to worse, I'd be willing to just let the upgrade happen since I rarely access my unit remotely anyway (I can access it, but some of the features don't work right). If I let the upgrade happen would it simply change my unit back to original state?

I like many others was in the same boat, ie, I have 5 DTivos.

I've just recently did my 1st upgrade to 6.4a using Dvrupg..com. I first verified that I didn't even have the 6.4a on my unit, ie, using the echo mls.... command, then used the wget O- /var...command sequence where I got the updated SW. Purchased the latest slicer 1.9 ftp'ed it, then ran it. Updated unit to 6.4a and within minutes had ALL my locals and all appeared normal, still have telnet, TWP (with all the modules)..great news but ....

I no longer have the network options on the phone setup page, normally when the phone option is selected the next page shows the ip and mac addresses in the right corner and a "Edit phone or network settings" where you can select "TCP/IP Settings" but none of this is even available.

I have verified Internet connectivity dispite the missing settings for the Phone.

What must I do to get this back so that I can make the changes via the remote control?

I don't have a desktop computer any longer so running the PTVnet cd isn't an option.
