instacake stuck at 103 of 694mb?

i am trying to create a new disk with a 500gb drive for my tcd24004a.

the dire says the cake is in the oven, it started to run then seems stuck at 103 of 694mb.

is this normalor should i see progress the full time? what is the 694mb refering to?

It refers to the CD image of instantcake. It takes time to bake, don't interrupt the Bake.

I let it go all night it was still at 103? i think something is not right. I tried a smaller drive and its at 621 of 694 right now. Does it matter if there is information on the drive already, or should they be formated?

Also how long is this process suppose to take for a 500gb drive?

* update i had an older version of instacake, i just purchased the newer one, now it just sits at a blinking cursor on the cake is in the oven screen. is this correct?

Infin,

You may want to try burning your CD at a slower speed and also try a different brand of media, if you have one. That *may* solve the problem. If you have a different PC to try, or more specifically, a different CD-ROM device, that may also help.

what size drive are you trying to bake? Instantcake will not always bake above one terrabyte drives. Linux has an upper limitation on drive size.

its a 500gb drive.

i also tried a 250gb drive and that one stops at 169mb. i burned the cd at 8x. will have to try another computer. does the program use the cd drive constantly or just to load up the program? I am using the newest version as of today.

Is it Western Digital? If yes make sure the drive is jumpered as Master and not as cable select.

The 500gb drive is a WD, its a sata drive using the adapter you have on your site, does the jumper on the adapter mean Master? i have it jumpered. The other drive i tried is also set to master and is a WD. Trying a different computer today, hopefully that will solve the problem.

First I do not work for DVRupgrade, so I have no idea what the jumper settings on the adapter are. Are you sure your tivo can take the high data rate of an ESATA drive?

im gona try to see if it will work, some say it will, some not. Eitherway i have the smaller drive which is PATA that is also not working with instacake with the same problem.



***UPDATE The other computer worked like a charm, baked it in about 15 minutes time. Now to see if it will work in my Tivo. Least i solved the problem of baking this thing.

is there a chage log for the revisions of instacake? i want to see what actually changed from version 7 that i had to the now 9.
