New Harddrive Problem

I bought an R10 instant cake cd several months back. My Directv Tivo
harddrive is finally about to go so I had a friend of mine use the
Instant Cake to flash a new, bigger hard drive. When I installed the
harddrive and looked on the system screen it showed the increased
recording hours like it was supposed to. It would not record and
showed and error 51 code. I expected that and restarted the recorder.
It still would not record and for some strange reason I could not get
any of the local channels that I did before the swap. I took the
drive out and moved the jumper from master to ac cable which is what
the original Tivo drive was set to and reinstalled it. It started at
the power up screen but would not power up. I ended up putting the
old harddrive back in and it started right up with all my channels
back and it would record. Any suggestions on where I go from here?
I'm thinking that maybe the flash on the Instant Cake CD may have
been the wrong version for mine. My tivo is an R10, Manufacture brand
100, Series 2, Software Version: 6.4a-01-2-521 and the service level
is P:- Please let me know if you have any suggestions. I did see on
one of your instruction pages that when I get the error 51 code to
not reset the recorder, but to select clear and delete everything.
Would this fix the channel problem and the recording problem? Thanks
so much for the help!
Alex
