Directv DVR R10 Series 2

We have a Directv dvr r10, periodically the pictures freezes and the unit makes a clicking noise when watching live TV. The only way to stop it is to unplug it. Need ideas on what to do next please.

for what it's worth,I'm having the same problem, have learned it could be HD needs repair/replacement and a new TiVo apparently is difficult to connect. I'm waiting for a solution also.
