Thread: VideoReDo Feedback Wanted

  1. VideoReDo Feedback Wanted

    Hello,

Are any of your Series2 TiVo owners using TiVoToGo to move files to your computer, and if so, what are you using (if anything) for editing your video files?

We are currently reselling a product from DRD Systems, called VideoReDo and have found it very useful for editing TiVo files among other things.

There is a 15-day free trial of the software available from the VideoRedo product page or if you just want to try it out, you can download it directly from here as well.

If you are currently a user of the product, we are interested in hearing your feedback.

    Thx,
    Lou

    Video Redo Review

I've purchased and used Video Redo Plus for about 6 months now. It's the only product that I've found that is very simple to use and will handle the TY files I download from my HR10-250 and then convert to MPEG with TYTOMPG. I can cut out commercials and then re-save my MPEG file without the audio and video losing sync.

I use VideoRedo Plus, and it's great for editing tivo extractions. The interface is intuitive, and you pretty much just pick it up and start using it. The "Plus" version has a feature that automatically searches for and edits out commercials. Very cool. I've found it to be extremely accurate and reliable in picking exactly where commercial blocks start and end. All versions of VideoRedo have a feature called "quick stream fix" that cleans up video sequence headers and timestamp issues that can sometimes plague tivo extractions. If you are extracting to DVD, reinserting video, or just using TivoToGo, I highly recommend it. See here and here for more info.
