PTVnet - "no such file or directory"

I'm trying to create a new upgraded DTV TIVO HD (HR10-250 /v.6.3d-01-2-357),using PTVnet. The PTVnet flags don't get set, as I receive the following error msgs for all subsequent flag settings:

touch: /mnt/tivo/init/ptv_flags/STATIC_OFF: No such file or directory

I had CD-ROM as Secondary Slave (Hdc) & HD as Primary Master (hda) connected.

I can see the drive mounted at hd7 from the shell using DF command.

I have tried this on two platforms: Dell and Gateway to see if the bios makes a difference.

Sounds like bios is assigning my HD as hdc7 vs just hda, so maybe PTVnet can't find it. I have to set my BIOS as auto otherwise the HD doesn't get recognized. The question is, how do I tell PTVnet to use hdc7 rather that hda?

    Thanks for any help.

The PTVnet script does ask you what device you are using for your primary TiVo drive. Please see the screen shots here.

Thanks Lou. Ok, I have tried all of options the script presents. I am CERTAIN the hard drive is PRIMARY and MASTER so the answer should be hda but it does not work. There is no way I can see how to choose "other" and get hd7.

    Thumbs down

Ok after playing around with it some more I've got the PRIMARY drive mounting at hda.

I found that the directories PTVnet was attempting to write to did not exist nor did it try to create them. I went in and created them myself down to the end of the path where the flags are saved. After running PTVnet again no more "no such file or directory" error. I moved the disk back to the DVR and booted and it still does not work.

The script in PTVnet looks like it is doing something but I don't think it has installed everything which leaves me wondering if there is a way to find out if it indeed worked i.e. installed ANYTHING. Any ideas?
